The 72nd annual San Sebastian Film Festival has officially announced 14 Latin films that will compete in the Horizontes Latinos competition for the Best Latin American Film Award, featuring numerous renowned filmmakers from the LaTAM region.
Featured at the event are productions from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela all competing for the grand prize, with Chilean filmmaker José Luis Torres Leiva’s film When Clouds Hide the Shadows / Cuando las nubes esconden las sombras kicking off opening night.

- Sleep with Your Eyes Open / Dormir de Olhos Abertos, directed by German-Argentine filmmaker Nele Wohlatz
- Argentine dark comedy Most People Die on Sundays / Los domingos mueren más personas, directed by Iair Said
- Ramón y Ramón, the latest feature film by Salvador del Solar
- Panamanian drama Querido Trópico / Beloved Tropic, which is the debut narrative film by Ana Endara
- Chilean directorial duo Camilo Becerra and Sofía Paloma Gómez’s film, based on true events, Maybe It’s True What They Say About Us / Quizá es cierto lo que dicen de nosotras
- Kill The Jockey / El jockey, by Luis Ortega
- hybrid musical Reas by Argentine director Lola Arias
- Colombian director Yennifer Uribe Alzate’s debut feature Skin in Spring / La piel en primavera
- Simon of the Mountain / Simón de la montaña, the debut feature by Argentine director Federico Luis
- Zafari, by Venezuelan director Mariana Rondón
- The Freshly Cut Grass / El aroma del pasto recién cortado), the latest feature by Argentine director Celina Murga
