Prime Video has officially wrapped what is being described as their most ambitious action thriller in Latin America, ‘A Billion to One’ which stars Omar Chaparro and Alejandro Speitzer, according to Variety.
According to the official rundown, the film centers on Carlos (Chaparro) and Miguel (Speitzer), best friends and elite soldiers in the Mexican special forces whose lives take a turn when Carlos witnesses the brutal murder of his wife.
“Consumed by grief and a thirst for justice, Carlos, with Miguel by his side, embarks on a perilous quest for revenge, armed with a life-changing lottery ticket and unwavering grit.”
“This project represents a significant milestone for our local productions, and we are excited to continue our great relationship with El Estudio, as well as to have such talented actors as our cast to bring this story to audiences worldwide” Alonso Aguilar, head of original content for Prime Video in Mexico said, per the report.
“Mexico is one of the countries that watches the most action on screens and in all media, but why don’t we as Mexican filmmakers do action? Why don’t we produce action films? So, it’s an honor and an incredible adventure to be able to make ‘A Billion to One,’ a 100 percent Mexican action film, built, made and designed for our audience but also with a global reach,” Aguilar continued.
“It’s a pleasure to get to work with Amazon, to be trusted in this wonderful adventure, and above all it’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with Rodrigo Valdés who, no doubt, is one of the most visionary directors I’ve ever met and worked with,” said producer Pablo Cruz.
